| I can't believe it's almost time for me to leave for St. Louis (I'm leaving Thursday probably)!! I still need to renew my driver's license, get my poster presentation approved & printed, clean my car, go shopping for polos, pack for St. Louis/Arkansas, get my oil changed, and wrap up my last minute papers. The good news is that once I'm home in St. Louis I can slow down & catch my breath...I'll be able to sleep late, hang out with my the girls & Josh, and clean out my car. I also have to go bridesmaid dress shopping while I'm home (yuck ). It's weird to think that I won't be home again until May 17th...that's a long time to be away from home for me. I'm going to miss my apartment and having my own space (I'm going to be living in a co-ed house in Little Rock and won't have anywhere to get away from everyone, which will be different experience from me). Ordered some visitors guides to Little Rock/Hot Springs online yesterday, so at least I should be able to find things to do while I'm there on my internship (fingers crossed that the brochures make it here before I leave!!). The good news is that I'll be able to keep my job at the hotel (I'll be working for the same boss in Arkansas and then when I come back to Springfield I can have my old job back), which is nice...I'm going to desperately need the money. I'm currently debating about ordering graduation announcements...they're pretty expensive and I'm not really going to invite a whole lot of people...mostly just immediate family and some close friends. My sister and I are actually graduating on the same day, so we're thinking of splitting the cost and making the invitations ourselves (they've got some pretty cool cardstock that you can print invitations on). That may be a disaster in the making, but that's the plan as of right now (either that, or online invitations....but that's only if the "make the invitations ourselves" plan falls through). Well kids, that's all I've got to say for now...enjoy what's left of your Sunday. | | |
| Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! I've been pretty busy lately and haven't gotten around to updating like I should've. Classes are officially done for me and all I have left to do is my research poster/paper and my radiology case study. I finally got my car tags renewed (LONG story behind that one!!) and next week I get a new pic for my driver's license (technically it doesn't expire 'till May but I'm going to be in Arkansas then so I have to get it done now). I leave for St. Louis on the 24th and then I'm off to Little Rock on April 1st (wish me luck!!).
In other news, my cousin Julie is the most amazing person I know...she's definitely my hero. Here's how great my cuz is...she came over and helped me clean house. My apartment has been a disaster area lately since I've been so busy with research/school and it was getting to the point that I could no longer see my floors and counter tops. She even helped me scrub my bathroom...if that's not love I don't know what is!!!
Well kids, that's all I've got..Have a great Shamrock day !
| Note on movie: Loved it...reminds me of the relationship I have with my sister. Also saw Just like Heaven and laughed my head off...one of the best movies I've seen in a while!!
Ok...just so I can put the erroneous rumors of my death and kidnapping by aliens to rest, I will update my xanga. To set the record straight, I just would like to say that I am very much alive, but my absence of late has been due to increased demands placed on me by school. I've been working my butt off the last month (or more...I'm bad with math and dates) to complete all the graduation requirements. For the next couple of weeks I still have papers due, etc. so don't hold your breathe for future updates after this entry. After classes/presentations/papers I will be heading off to Arkansas for my final clincial internship. As of right now I'm unsure if I will have computer access during my internship so probably no updates for quite a while.
Major things that happened since my last posting: had a good Valentine's day weekend with Josh and got a beautiful heart necklace, found out I'm going to Little Rock and will have housing for the duration of my internship, got back in touch with an old friend from high school. Well that's about all that's happened lately in my life and my study break time is over. See ya!!
| Note on movie: I'm so excited that this movie is on TV tonight and I can't wait to see it!! I really liked the original X-men so I'm looking forward to the sequel (the reviews say it's actually better than the first one!!).
Well Miranda & Amy bailed on me Saturday night (they had too much homework that they had to get done) so I ended up just sleeping in (pathetic, I know ). Work at the nursery went well this morning...I finally told my boss that I want to only work the morning shift from now on so that I can go to church. Not sure how she took it, but I'm proud of myself for making that step. One of my goals for the new year is to get back into church more and this is definitely a step towards achieving that goal !!
Called to check on Heather today to see if she was feeling any better (she has the flu). I'm trying to get a group of people together to go watch "Waiting" on campus (free to all MSU students...one of the few perks of being a college student) and I wanted to see if she wanted to go. I heard the movie is pretty funny so I'd like to check it out but it looks like Heather can't go (she's still not feeling well) and I'm not sure I can talk Julie & Daniel into it . I'd also like to go to the Bears hockey game on Saturday but Heather has to work. Hopefully I can talk Julie/Marvin, Daniel, & the girls (Miranda & Amy) into coming with me (fingers crossed).
On a more serious note, something crossed my mind this morning while I was getting ready for church. As part of my read through the Bible in a year I ran accross a passage about Rebecca. The cliff note on that verse (I have a study Bible) discussed her inner beauty. The passage in question inspired today's thought. As American's we are so conserned with our outer beauty and work hard to develop it (we go shopping to buy cool clothes, get our hair cut in the latest fashion, etc) but how often do we work on developing our inner beauty? Seriously...give it some thought...when was the last time you conciously made an effort to be more generous, kind to others, patient, or in general more Christ like. Sure we go to church, read the Bible, etc. but I think most of us are guilty of not trying to make our behavior reflect Christ more. I challenge everyone that reads this to develop their inner beauty!! Well kids, my movie is going to be on in a while so I need to get some work done in the meantime (fold laundry here at work and catch up on my daily Bible readings). Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!!
| The internet is currently working so I thought I'd take advantage of this unexpected bonus and update my xanga today. I've updated the look of my site so let me know what you think of the Veggie Tales (I thought they were so cute!!). Didn't sleep well last night. Have you ever had a dream that disturbs you and you just can't seem to shake off the next morning? That happened to me this morning so now I'm in a funk right now. Not sure where the subject matter for this dream came from but it was definitely disturbing.
In other news, I'm looking forward to Miranda, Amy, & I going bowling tonight (those girls are so funny). My aunt is also coming to town today for her spa weekend (my cuz & her family gave my aunt a gift certificate to the spa as a Christmas gift, which was reallly sweet of them...my aunt definitely deserves it!!). Well that's all for now folks...C-ya!!
